A landscaper in Orange County is lucky to be alive after nearly being electrocuted while doing tree work from a bucket truck Tuesday.
Police say a four-man landscaping crew was trimming a tree outside a home on Lake Vue Drive in Montgomery around 11:30 a.m. when a worker's tools or the bucket he was in came in contact with a power line.
The three other landscapers told police they were standing on the ground when they suddenly heard a pop and looked up to see a flash of light surrounding their colleague in the bucket.
Police say the victim, a 33-year-old from the Washingtonville area, suffered severe burns.
The victim was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center.
The other three men were evaluated at the scene and released.
