Fuhgeddaboudit Food: The Farm on Adderley
A Brooklyn restaurant is taking farm-to-table cuisine to Ditmas Park.
The Farm on Adderley on Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster only serves food it has bought through local farms it works with.
The idea behind the restaurant is to know where food is sourced from every step of the way.
Executive Chef Steven Hubbell says there is a sense of assurance in knowing where your food comes from.
"I know who grew it and who caught it," Hubbell says.
It's the staff at Adderley's commitment to seasonality, and using only what's fresh and currently growing on farms, that keeps customers coming back.
Even their beef is sourced from local butchers, Hubbell says.
"This is someone who really cares about the animals and their welfare which in turn produces really outstanding quality products," he says.
Burgers, salmon and fresh produce are some of the items you can expect to find on their menu during the summer season.
