Residents at a senior living facility in Yonkers say the elevator has not worked for weeks, and the owner of the building has not stepped forward to get the issue resolved.
Troys Manor residents told News 12 that they have been struggling to climb the stairs at the five-floor facility.
"It has been very rough. I live on the second floor. Even that is too much for me. For a whole month I've been walking up and down," said Eunice Johnson.
According to the website for the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers, the building has some floors that are supposed to be handicapped accessible.
A spokesperson for the Municipal Housing Authority told News 12 that they sent maintenance workers to the building and expect the problem to be fixed by the end of the day.
