MOUNT VERNON -

A Mount Vernon woman says her dog was killed and she was later hospitalized as a result of an attack by two Rottweilers.

Betzaida Negron says the unleashed Rotweilers pounced on her as she grasped her 7-year-old Chihuahua named Reeses early Thursday morning on Hillside Avenue near Farrell Avenue.

"I tried to run to the side of the house, but I couldn't because they jumped on me real quick,” she says. "I fell and I had to let the dog go."

Negron says she suffered a bruise on her knee and hurt her back.

News 12 was told that the Rottweilers are still with the owner, who was given a summons.
