An early morning house fire in Pomona claimed the life of a 63-year-old man.

Fire official say flames shot through the roof of a home on 286 Quaker Road when they arrived on the scene around 3 a.m.

News 12 was told the victim was found in one of the back bedrooms.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His name has not been released.

Investigators say the fire may have started at the back on the house.
