There's a new push to save a decaying historic home in Greenburgh.

The Odell house, which was built in the early 1700s and used during the Revolutionary War, is falling apart.

The town of Greenburgh is now assisting the Sons of the American Revolution, which owns this historic home on Ridge Road in Hartsdale.

Together, they are seeking a $500,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Fund. The money would be used for architectural planning, design and construction work for an initial phase of restoring the house.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says it's important to secure the funding otherwise the house will be lost.

The grant application will be filed later this month. Once the house is restored, the owners hope to open it up to the public as a museum.
