Westchester celebrates 4th of July with Kensico Dam fireworks show

Westchester County celebrated the Fourth of July with live music and a fireworks show Tuesday.
Many arrived early to stake out a spot to watch the show at Kensico Dam despite rain earlier on in the day.
Music kicked off the free event around 6 p.m., ahead of the firework show that began at 9:15 p.m.
Hundreds brought chairs, towels and blankets to claim their spots, while others set up tents with food and drinks for the night.
Scott Finkel of Hawthorne, who arrived at 1 p.m., said he arrived early every year for the past eight years. Only this year, he was greeted with gray clouds and rain.
"I don't mind so much because it's been so hot and this rain is going to be good. We got things covered with tarps so we're OK,” Finkel said.

The event was free with free parking.
