Bedford Hills residents call to stop cell tower from going up

Bedford Hills residents are fighting to stop a cell phone tower from going up in their neighborhood.
Signs protesting the Verizon tower can be seen throughout neighborhoods close to the proposed site at 91 Hickory Lane, which is private property in a residential neighborhood.
Residents say they oppose the tower because they believe it could cause fires, obstruct the bucolic view and say they are concerned about their property value.
The Verizon tower is needed to fill the gaps in cellphone coverage in the area, but residents still do not want the tower nearby.
The planning board is expected to make its final decision next month.
