Ossining students celebrate classmate fighting rare form of cancer

Students in Ossining celebrated a special event and a special person simultaneously Friday.
Children at Claremont School participated in their annual field day in honor of classmate Gavin King.
King, 10, is battling a rare form of cancer called RMS, something his parents say he's determined to not let get the best of him.
"I feel like he's much more mature beyond his years," says Shannon King. "He's able to have really hard days, and he really gets very quiet and he's focused. Then when he feels better, he rebuilds, he comes to school and he surrounds himself with his friends."
The fourth-grader has adopted his own personal slogan, "No problem, Gavin," to help get him through his journey.
Gavin's initials were printed on every bandana that was sold at the school to raise money for Memorial Sloan-Kettering, where he is being treated.
