PLEASANTVILLE -

A walk was held before sunrise Sunday morning for a special cause.

The first Break The Hold Foundation walk for mental illness awareness was held at Pleasantville High School.

It was started by the parents of 19-year-old Brian Thomas Halloran, who took his own life back in January.

Halloran's father says they hope the walk will lead to talking about mental illness.

As many as 600 people participated in the 2.5 mile walk.
