Woman accuses Rockland nursing home of neglecting patients

A woman whose mother is a patient of Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center says the nursing home neglects patients.
Jennifer Gargiulo says her 86-year-old mother is not being properly cared for at Nyack Ridge.
Gargiulo says her mother moved to the center about three weeks ago after suffering a stroke, and that staff members have neglected her mother's needs since the first day.
She claims staff is never around to help feed, change or shower patients. When asking to speak to a supervisor, Gargiulo says she's ignored.
"I go into the day room to feed her when I'm there. I'm ending up feeding two people at once and my mother. No one steps up to say, 'That's not your job, we'll take care of it,’" she says.
She also says her mother had a fall, but the facility never alerted her.
Nyack Ridge is denying the allegations.
In a statement it said, "Nyack Ridge is dedicated to providing quality care to our residents. Everyone is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. We take all allegations seriously and will conduct an internal investigation."
