Officials: Threat found in middle school was 'prank'

Parents and students are on high alert after a written threat was discovered at a Hudson Valley school.
Students at Somers Middle School are still shaken up after someone wrote, "I am going to shoot up the school" in the boys bathroom.
According to an email sent Friday to parents by the school superintendent, that statement was followed by a student's name.
After the student denied writing it, Westchester County police interviewed several other students. Their investigation found that one student allegedly attempted to get another in trouble by attributing the threat to the second student.
A follow up email to parents described the situation as a "horrible adolescent prank."
According to the district's Facebook page, police continued to interview students over the weekend and will be present at the school on Monday.
The district superintendent says doors at the middle school will not open until 7:30 a.m. Monday and be will locked immediately after the arrival of the late school bus.
