Coyote tests positive for rabies after biting Thornwood girl

The coyote that bit a 5-year-old Thornwood girl tested positive for rabies, News 12 has learned.
Police say the animal bit Natalia Petrellese on the playground at Carroll Park on Kensico Road Sunday. Off-duty Irvington police officer Arcangelo Liberatore was at the park and was able to subdue the animal until police arrived. Authorities on the scene shot and killed the coyote.
Petrellese says the animal ran toward her and bit her so hard that it made a hole in her jacket.
All three are all being treated for rabies as a precaution.
