Spring weather finally arrived this week, bringing with it seasonal allergies for some Hudson Valley residents.

"When we start to see the blooming of the flowers, we start to see people come in," says Anthony Ciarletta, of the Grassy Sprain Pharmacy in Yonkers.

They come in for allergy medicine, he says: "Anything from antihistamines to decongestants."

Stephanie Pisani, of Tarrytown, says she went outside to welcome the warm weather -- despite a running nose and tearing eyes. She was not alone.

Doctors say people who suffer from seasonal allergies should limit their time outside when pollen is high. Taking medicine before the symptoms begin is also a good idea, they say.
