CONGERS -

A New City man drove his Lincoln Continental across a lawn in Congers Wednesday evening and smashed into a home.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at a home on Trevor Lake Drive.

The 53-year-old driver says he was trying to make a left turn when the car accelerated and jumped the curb. He was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Investigators impounded the car and say it will be inspected. The driver was not arrested and no tickets were issued.

There was no one inside the home at the time of the crash.
