A Hudson Valley girl is defying the odds as she makes her recovery from a heart transplant.
Conroy was born with a congenital heart defect.
Her progress over just a few months includes a full range of motion in her right arm and the ability to say a few words.
Eventually, therapists hopes to get her back to being able to sit and walk.
Physical therapist Mara Abrams says that they have molded braces for Conroy's feet that give her muscles support that they can't provide.
Conroy has also continued her education while recovering, with teachers coming to her bedside.
Conroy's dad say he is thankful for all those that have helped her during this process.
"My ultimate goal: We'd love to see her walking back into our home again, someday, and live as normal a life as possible," says Bryan Conroy.
