Private school to sell campus to town, downsize to new location

A Rockland County private school says it will downsize and relocate after selling its 20-acre campus to the town of Clarkstown.
Clarkstown will purchase the Rockland Country Day School campus for $4.4 million.
The Congers school serves 110 children, from pre-K through 12th grade. School officials say they're looking to downsize due to high costs and declining enrollment.
"We will be looking for a new location that meets the needs we have for our program. We value outdoor space and will take the time we need to find a space that will be our new home," says Kim Morcate, head of Rockland Country Day School.
There's no word yet on where the new campus could be located, but the school is working with the town to remain at its current location for another year.
