GREENBURGH -

The immigrant at the center of a News 12 special report called “DeJuan's Story” has been deported.

A picture of DeJuan Callender shows him stepping off a plane in Barbados Wednesday night.

The Westchester father spoke with News 12 last year behind bars at the Orange County Jail,  expressing his frustration of being detained even after receiving a pardon from the New York governor.

Callender was arrested by immigration officials more than a decade after committing two non-violent crimes back in 2005.

He arrived to New York from Barbados when he was 5. He leaves behind a wife and a young son.

His wife is vowing to appeal the decision
