News 12's Blaise Gomez was in Orange County Thursday as treacherous storm conditions wreaked havoc on roads during the evening commute.
The conditions were so severe that state police say it caused dozens of accidents and spinouts on area highways as plows struggled to keep roads clear.
One driver told News 12 that they saw five terrible accidents.
The hours of steady snowfall hit areas like Monroe, Chester and Goshen particularly hard, with wind gusts whipping snow and making it difficult to see.
At the height of the storm, hundreds of people in Orange were without power.
