A White Plains program that helps children in need desperately needs a new space to continue operating.

The Westchester Jewish Community Services, which operates, Kids' Kloset, is facing a crisis. The building that houses the nonprofit has been sold, and the organization needs another generous donor to step up.

Volunteers at the program have sorted, packed and delivered gently used kids clothing and essentials for the past seven years. About 16,000  children have received what they call "bags of love,” one weeks’ worth of clothing for kids in immediate need.

"We're looking for a real estate owner who is generous, has warehouse space, or office space, or retail space... that wants to demonstrate their care for the community and their social responsibility with a program that changes the lives of children all throughout this community,” says Susan Lewen, of WJCS Kids’ Kloset.

The organization needs 35,000-square feet of space, rent free so they can continue to provide a vital service to families in need. Some are victims of domestic violence, some people have lost everything and others simply can’t afford to put shoes on their kid’s feet.
