Mario Batali under fire amid sexual misconduct allegations

PORT CHESTER -

Mario Batali, celebrity chef and co-owner of Tarry Lodge in Port Chester for nearly a decade, is under fire amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct with women.

The allegations made by four unnamed women were first reported on the website Eater

Just next store to the Tarry Lodge is the Tarry Market, which is also owned and operated by Batali. Patrons to Batali's Port Chester locations were divided about going to his establishments Tuesday.

One person said, "I don't want to support him." Another said they would continue heading to the market for what he characterized as the best place to get a cubano sandwich.

One patron said that "hundreds of people would be hurting if everyone just boycotted his establishment."

Batali has since apologized, saying his behavior was wrong and that there are no excuses for his actions.
