WOODBURY -

State police have released the name of a New York City man who was killed in a two-car accident on the Thruway in the Hudson Valley over the weekend.

Troopers say they responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of a serious crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Exit 16 in the Orange County town of Woodbury.

Troopers on Monday identified the victim as 24-year-old Eric Luzardo, of the Elmhurst section of Queens. Police say he was a passenger in one of the vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details have been released. Troopers say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
