Rep. Maloney returns from tour of storm-ravaged Puerto Rico

Posted: Updated:

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney has returned from a trip to tour the devastation in Puerto Rico.

Rep. Maloney, who sits on the Congressional Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, was invited by the White House to tour the island Saturday as part of a congressional delegation.

"The challenges are overwhelming," Maloney says. "This storm has done tremendous damage...historic damage. But this storm can't destroy Puerto Rico. Only we can do that by inaction, by our heartlessness or by turning a blind eye."

Maloney and other members of the House and Senate toured hard-hit areas and spoke with victims.

He returned to the United States late Saturday night.
