A Peekskill father had to 'Turn to Tara' after he says a local auto mechanic took his car for repairs and didn't give it back.
Rohan Cumberbatch says his three-month battle with Taconic Auto Repair turned his life upside down.
He said the work for his car cost $1,500, but he still did not get his vehicle back. He told News 12 he made dozens of calls to the shop and received dozens of excuses to no avail.
Cumberbatch said he had to resort to walking back and forth to the train since he didn’t have a car, and that he had a child in the midst of the car repair saga.
'Turn to Tara' called the auto repair company and one day later, Cumberbatch was told that the broken turbo in his Subaru was finally fixed.
When Cumberbatch asked the mechanic why it took so long, the mechanic told him he had to get the parts and that it was out of his hands. ‘Turn to Tara’ then asked why he was able to get the car back less than 24 hours after being contacted by the media. The mechanic said he got a call from the junkyard that day that the part had come in.
The mechanic insisted he did his best before giving Cumberbatch back his keys.
