Rockland County officials say they have received numerous calls from people in the community asking how they can help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
They say the most important thing they need right now is money because it's still too difficult to ship supplies to the ravaged areas, and it's still unclear exactly what people need.
Several organizations from Rockland County such as United Way, American Red Cross, and People to People are working together to raise money for the victims.
There is also a plea for help from the Hi-Tor Animal Shelter. It is expected to get dogs and cats from Texas and Louisiana next week. It is also looking for donations.
