Mosquito-control companies in high demand after West Nile detection

Mosquito control companies in Westchester are receiving more calls than usual this summer after West Nile was detected there.
Earlier this week, the Westchester County Department of Health announced mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile virus in Mount Vernon - the first for this summer- and most likely more to come given the rainy season so far.
Experts say there are some easy steps people can take to protect themselves from West Nile, including removing standing water from backyards.
Ken Unger, president of Suburban Pest Control, also suggests calling a professional to do an assessment and show residents the areas of deficiencies.
