A Newburgh couple had to be rescued after their boat caught fire near Long Island Tuesday evening.

The fire broke out as the man and woman left a beach near Fire Island last night. The couple was wearing life jackets as they jumped into the water with their two dogs.

A 70-year old Long Island man saw the victims and took them onto his boat.

No one was hurt.
