Police: Mother, 3 children struck by car in Monsey

An alleged road rage accident left a mother and her three children hospitalized Monday afternoon in Monsey, after a car struck them as they walked on Route 59, authorities say.
The mom was walking alongside her 13- and 8-year-old daughters with her 3-month-old son in a stroller when a man driving a Toyota slammed into them, according to police.
Joel Rabinowitz says he saw the whole thing: A white taxi cab cut off a beige Toyota, sending the driver into a rage.
"The guy in the beige car had gotten pissed off, threw a cup out of the window, was weaving in and out of traffic and ended up hitting a few people," Rabinowitz says. "To see it firsthand -- I was crying when I saw that girl on the floor. She was bleeding from her face. It was horrible."
Additionally, residents say they've been asking the state for sidewalks in the area to no avail.
The identities of the victims were not immediately released. The four were listed in serious condition at Westchester Medical Center.
