A Mount Vernon elementary school is unveiling a brand-new park with a special dedication to a student athlete who was shot and killed on New Year's Eve.
Shamoya McKenzie, 13, was struck by a stray bullet in Mount Vernon on New Year's Eve.

McKenzie's school, Graham Elementary, unveiled the park Thursday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new park includes a playground, community garden, athletic fields and a basketball court. McKenzie was an aspiring basketball player.
