Water main repairs cause headaches for Tarrytown residents

A burst water main on Route 9 in Tarrytown is causing headaches for residents and commuters Wednesday.
The emergency repair work on the underground water main has been going on since the main ruptured Tuesday. Drivers say the repair work has made commuting difficult. The work is taking place in front of Tarrytown Honda, which is also causing that business a bit of a headache. Some service appointments had to be rescheduled, so customers wouldn't have to deal with the mess of getting around the street work. However, the dealership says the village is doing a great job while the repairs are being done.
Residents may notice their water is brown. Officials from the water department say it is nothing to worry about and advise residents to run the water for a while before using it. The village does expect to have the water main repairs completed by Wednesday afternoon, so Route 9 traffic should move smoothly for the evening commute.
