Westchester digs out from wintry mix of snow and ice

Residents in Westchester were spending Thursday digging out from the storm that left an icy mess behind in its wrath.
Business owners worked hard clearing the sidewalks or risked getting a fine. Residents tried to dig out cars left parked in the street. Many had difficulty dealing with the masses of snow and ice left by the storm. And while roads seemed safe, many spots still had slush. Two drivers on the NYS Thruway near the Tappan Zee Bridge spun out because they were going too fast.
The cold weather is expected to stay for a while, so residents are advised to be careful while driving due to black ice.
