Fire guts store at Yonkers shopping center

Fire officials are investigating a two-alarm fire that gutted a store in a popular Yonkers shopping center Friday.
Dozens of firefighters battled the fire that started just after midnight at the Sterling Optical store at the Cross County Center. Emergency crews cut into the walls and roof to make sure there were no flames hiding there. Firefighters say their primary concern was making sure the fire didn?t spread to other stores in the mall.
Fire officials think the cause may be electrical, but are investigating. No one was injured in the fire.
