New Rochelle resident inducted into hall of fame

Longtime New Rochelle resident Ruby Dee was inducted into Westchester County's Women's Hall of Fame Friday.The activist, writer, and actress was recognized for a lifetime of achievement at a luncheon where this year?s theme was ?Generations of Women Moving History Forward.? More than 300 people packed the ballroom at the Ryetown Hilton in Rye Brook, including Dee?s daughter, who came to represent the family. In addition to honoring Dee, 30 women in high school and college were awarded scholarships to help them move forward in history.
