Hudson Valley residents walk for domestic violence

Friends and family of a teenager beaten to death a year ago gathered for a memorial walk Saturday to commemorate the life and loss of Karesse Ebron.
The walk took place along Route 45 and ended at the site of her brutal death at the hands of ex-boyfriend Ryan Ross. Ross is currently in prison for killing Ebron with a baseball bat.
The walk brought Ebron?s mother to the scene of the crime for the first time since her daughter?s death.
Ebron?s family say they hope that the walk will serve as a reminder of the harsh realities of domestic abuse. They say the walk will become an annual event.
Participants later gathered at Eugene Levy Park to release balloons into the sky in memory of Ebron.
