Jury in Yonkers drive-by hears videotaped confession

A jury watched the videotaped confession Tuesday of a Yonkers teen accused of fatally shooting a Tarrytown college student. Jurors heard 19-year-old Anthony Burton's account of the drive-by shooting that killed Jessica Santos, 19, last August. Burton cried several times on the tape and told officers, "I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't aim for that girl.? Burton?s attorney does not dispute that his client fired the fatal shots, but is seeking a lesser conviction of manslaughter. "The evidence will show that he was aiming for the sign," said defense attorney Barry Warhit. Burton is charged with second-degree murder. He faces 25 years in prison if convicted.
