Bomb scare forces evacuation of Blythedale hospital

Dozens of severely handicapped children were evacuated from the Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla Thursday because of a bomb scare. Officials say the entire 92-bed facility was evacuated after someone phoned in a bomb threat around 9:15 a.m. Mount Pleasant and state police closed off the entrances to the hospital, while the Westchester County Bomb Squad searched the hospital. Officials say no explosives were found and patients were brought back into the building around 11:15 a.m. Police are investigating the incident.
