Pilot injured when small plane crashes in Montgomery

A man flying solo crashed his plane in a wooded area in Montgomery Sunday, not far from the airport he was supposed to land at and survived with injuries.
Authorities say the one-seat 1986 Falcon XP aircraft lost power and crashed at about 2:30 p.m. Jeremiah Murphy, 68, of Maryland survived the crash with a broken leg and cuts and bruises. His plane was left in seven broken pieces.
Murphy crashed one-fourth of a mile away from the Orange County Airport.
Murphy is being treated at the Westchester Medical Center.
