Sleepy Hollow petroleum leak threatens Hudson River

A massive cleanup is under way in Sleepy Hollow Saturday after a mysterious oil leak threatened the Hudson River.
Hazmat and fire officials noticed a glossy white substance on the Powcantico River. Officials say the petroleum leak is coming from the soil. Crews placed foam boons to keep the leak from entering the Hudson River.
A neighboring Citgo Gas Station was shut down until testing is completed. Station owner Wayne Jeffers says he will continue to cooperate even though preliminary checks of his inventory, tanks and monitoring well are completely normal.
Since the Powcantico directly connects to the Hudson River, officials say the Department of Environmental Conservation will have to come in and further investigate just how the leak has affected the Hudson.
