Stuck truck, oil spill creates Tappan Zee danger zone

It was a messy and potentially dangerous commute across the Tappan Zee Bridge Wednesday night after a tractor-trailer became wedged between two guardrails and spilled 75 gallons of fuel in the process.
The driver of the 18-wheeler says he was cut off by another driver just after 6:30 p.m. Police say the truck driver then swerved into the guardrails and became stuck. The truck downed some light poles, and its fuel tank was punctured.
The live electric wires and fuel spill could have created a hazardous situation. However, no one was inured. After more than 90 minutes a tow truck was able to pull the 18-wheeler to safety.
The driver, Donald Collar of Hartwick, was brought to police barracks for questioning but investigators do not believe he was speeding or driving recklessly.
