Mt. Vernon man attacked by neighbor's pit bulls

A Mount Vernon man says he is living in fear after being attacked by two of his neighbor?s pit bulls.
Craine Conway, 43, says he was taking out garbage when he was attacked in the backyard of his apartment building by two dogs. He says he was dragged several feet during the attack. At one point, Conway says his wife tried to get the animals off him, but they started toward her. According to Conway, he managed to protect his wife, but the dogs started to attack him again.
Now, Conway says he can?t believe one of the pit bulls is back with its owner. The second dog is still being held at an animal shelter. On Tuesday, county SPCA workers visited the Conway home to discuss the family?s legal options.
?If left to the individual, he can sue or he could make a dangerous dog complaint,? Kenneth Ross, of the SPCA, says.
The owners of the pit bulls would not speak with News 12 Westchester about the incident.
