Pelham construction worker killed in NY crane accident

Pelham construction worker Wayne Bliedner was one of those killed when a crane toppled off a Manhattan building Saturday afternoon.
In total, four died, three remain missing and 17 were injured when the 19-story crane fell off an apartment building under construction on East 51st Street.
Family and friends of Bliedner, 51, gathered at his home Sunday night to help console his wife. ?She's doing the best she can,? Bliedner?s niece Kristen said. ?We're all doing the best we can. He was just an awesome person and you can't have anything bad to say about him. We loved him very much,? she said.
Bliedner?s loved ones say the suddenness of the accident has left them in shock. They described him as giving, kind and loved by all. His family says Bliedner had been looking forward to retirement and spending time with his 10-year-old son Robert.
