Driving without a seat belt is costing Westchester drivers big bucks as officials roll out their annual "Click It or Ticket" program.
The crackdown on Westchester roads started Monday and will run until June 1. Checkpoints were set up on busy streets, such as Rumsey Road off the Saw Mill River Parkway.
Authorities say with Memorial Day around the corner, more people drink and drive. Additionally, officials say New York has the highest fines in the tri-state area for not buckling up.
Many drivers got the message the loud and clear. "I never leave the house without putting it on," said Lisa Vereline. "I never leave the house without clicking first."
