Jury: Men not guilty in Yonkers beating
An NYPD officer and two other men were found not guilty Monday of beating a man outside a Yonkers bar two years ago.
Michael McGhee, a New York City police officer, Thomas Wimmer, a former police officer and another man, Patrick Tully, were all accused of attacking a Yonkers man outside the Rockin Robbins Bar.
The prosecution argued that the victim was beaten so badly he lost sight in an eye where he had suffered a previous injury.
After a two-week trial in Yonkers City Court and less than two hours of deliberations, the jury said it didn't believe the prosecution proved its case.
