Cortlandt mansion fire ruled arson

The fire that destroyed a mansion in Cortlandt over the weekend was ruled arson.
Westchester County acquired the property once know as Stokes House almost a decade ago. Rains in the past days kept crews from going through the debris that was still smoldering. Now, officials say they have detected accelerants and have taken samples to determine what exactly sparked the fire.
Police say that although there were beer cans found in the area, they have no indication that the fire was started by partying teenagers who use the house as a hangout. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the county police at 914-864-7891.
