Mom accused of poisoning son back in court

The mother accused of poisoning her son to death was back in court today.
Lacey Spears is accused of murdering her 5-year-old son Garnet. The former Chestnut Ridge mother allegedly filled his feeding tube with a lethal level of sodium last year. The suspect claims he was sick since birth.
A brief hearing was held today at the Westchester County Courthouse. Spears sat with her attorneys and was not asked to speak.
The judge must still rule whether certain information about Spears past will be admitted into evidence.

Prosecutors say there are medical records that show Spears may have tried to poison her son before.
During the trial, the jury will hear from 35 prosecution witnesses, in addition to those called by the defense.
Jury selection for the case is set to begin on Jan. 26.
