Drug arrest made at affordable housing site

One of the neighborhoods raided in an early morning sweep for drugs by police in New Rochelle included newly constructed affordable housing that requires new residents to pass criminal background checks.

One person was arrested Tuesday at the Heritage Homes in New Rochelle in Operation City Sweeper 2.

There were also three arrests made at the New Rochelle Homeless Shelter on Washington Avenue.

Four arrests were made at a housing authority building on Sickles Avenue.

Authorities say the investigation is extending beyond the Sound Shore city into nearby municipalities like Larchmont.

Police say several more arrests are expected.
