Man sought after trying to lure teen girls in to van in Wallkill
A group of teenage girls in Wallkill says a man tried to lure them into a van Tuesday night.
Police in Orange County are investigating the suspicious incident at the Short Stop Deli. Police say one of the teens was seen on surveillance video approaching a man who had just purchased beer inside the store.
The girls reported the suspect then offered them a ride, but instead they took off and told their parents.
People in the area say these kinds of incidents concern them. "It's terrible somebody tried, especially over here, it's scary. Like I say, all the kids are outside in the development playing. There's a lot of young girls, a lot of young kids," says Linda Siracusa, of Wallkill.
