Seniors stage 'That '60s Show' at the Ukrainian Youth Center in Yonkers

Some local performers brought their audience back in time to the 1960s yesterday.

The young-at-heart entertainers paid tribute to the music and television shows from that era at the Ukrainian Youth Center in Yonkers.

The event was just one of county Legislator Bernice Spreckman's many senior citizen programs "They have something to look forward to, and it should go on, as far as I'm concerned, forever. It keeps me young and them young," says Spreckman.

There were several guest appearances with seniors taking on the roles of Minnie Pearl, Johnny Carson, and numerous singing and dancing groups. "I remember the '60s. I had a lot of children then and I was busy, but I loved the music and I would always sing," says Margret Assante, of Yonkers.
