Union rallies at St. John's Riverside Hospital ahead of possible mid-July strike

Health care workers across the state are fighting for a new contract in a dispute that could precipitate a strike in mid-July.
SEIU Local 11-99's contract was supposed to run through July 2015, but earlier this year, it was reopened and there is now a July 15 deadline for a possible strike.
One of 100 demonstrations statewide took place outside St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers. The demonstrators are concerned about cuts to their pensions - specifically their health benefits.
Worker Raymond Outerbridge pointed out that if he gets sick and does not have the benefits to pay for medical bills, he can't take care of the sick people at the hospital.
