Korean War vet picked as 1st honoree for Montrose veterans' plaque

An 85-year-old Korean War veteran was recognized Thursday for his heroic efforts.
Tarrytown native and former U.S. Army soldier Joseph Occhipinti was selected as the first honoree to be added to the veterans' plaque in Montrose.
He is a Purple Heart and U.N. Medal recipient.
The Montrose Business Council says it plans to hold its future veterans' plaque dedication ceremonies in the fall.
